Our Story
“I’m sorry, but there is no heartbeat.”
I was thirty-eight weeks pregnant, just nine days away from our due date with our third child, Lydia. In those few short moments, our world came crashing down in front of us. Our reality would now be one of walking through a new journey. A journey of living life without our daughter here on earth. In an unforgettable instant, we became grieving parents, now walking our two living children through grief as well.
In the early days of grief is when we decided that we needed to help other families going through similar loss. Lydia’s Legacy was placed on our hearts in 2018 when our daughter was born and became reality in 2022. Since 2018 we have endured more loss but also hope as we welcomed a son in 2020 and a daughter in 2022.
Our journey has taught us that even in traversing the depths of grief, joy, hope, and peace can always be found. We find ourselves now stepping into a new journey to continue Lydia’s Legacy here and now.
About Lydia's Legacy
Lydia’s brief but meaningful nine months of life put a fire in our hearts to serve others going through similar experience of loss. To keep her memory alive, we decided that we needed to spread the overwhelming love that she left behind.
The day that Lydia was born was the day that Lydia’s Legacy was born as well. We knew from that day forward that our calling would be to provide comfort to families of loss through our blessing boxes. With your loving support, we are able to create the beautiful boxes that we then give to families going through the difficult journey of pregnancy and infant loss.
